There were interesting scenes on the Akuapim mountains on Saturday when the campaign of Nana Akufo-Addo experienced its strangest recruitment yet of volunteers, in Akropong-Akuapim in the Eastern Region.
The NPP Loyal Ladies, a group under the NPP Youth Wing, were on canvassing duties in Akropong with the Parliamentary Candidate for the Akropong Constituency, Dokua Adjei-Asiamah, when they came across a group of Mahama Ladies also about their duties.
The Mahama Ladies reportedly chased after the bus carrying the Loyal Ladies and asked to be allowed to join the NPP campaign.
They then requested some T-shirts. In the full glare of passers-by, these Mahama Ladies reportedly changed into NPP Loyal Ladies T-shirts and joined the campaign trail with the Loyal Ladies.
The ladies, according to sources have been signed up for a training programme scheduled for Monday where they will be formally trained on the ideology of NPP, its campaigning methods and the solutions it is proposing as an alternative to the Mahama-led NDC government.
